In aid of our Steam Engine repairs and in celebration of the abundance of community, we have been gathering promises over the past months which will be auctioned off here on the 2nd April. These include Scything lessons, Fanny's Meadow Festival tickets, an Indian Head Massage and a week's accommodation in the Italian alps, just to name a few!

(A full list of the Auction lots is now available to view through the link at the top of the page along with online bidding information for those who cannot join us on the day.)

The event will begin at 3pm with time to settle and look around before the first half of the auction starts at 4pm. The auction will then be followed by live music and merriment into the evening!

A delicious buffet dinner will be available included in the ticket price, with some juicy extras available on donation. We will also have a bar selling our hand cranked cider, apple juice and other local delicacies.

For tickets please see here. £6. Some tickets will be available on the door at £8.

For those of you who are not aware, our steam engine is a fundamental pillar of our community, powering our saw mill which provides us with a majority of our income and enables us to live here by processing sustainable, local, fossil fuel free timber! But it is also more than that: in its brilliantly eccentric way it is an important manifestation of what can be done without fossil fuels and independent from large-scale industry in the UK. For more information and to see our journey through repairs with Ol' steamy so far see our Engine Appeal page.

Unfortunately repairing a steam engine has turned out to be a bit more specialist and far more costly than we had imagined, but rather than allowing the finances to bog us down, we thought we could use this as an opportunity to bring together and celebrate the extensive community of Tinkers Bubble.

This event will be a celebration of community; an opportunity for us all to forge new, and strengthen old bonds through the sharing of skills, care and knowledge as we learn from and empower one another.

Thank you, The Bubble.
